I am not sure what happened.....summer seems to have slipped away. I have been extra busy at the barn, we have had four new babies this week.....all girls~!!! yeah!
One of my favorite gurls Poppy had another heifer.....Pippa~! This is daughter number five. Every farmer knows that you always take a chance when buying a new cow. My husband bought Poppy about six years ago at a sale, for 400 hundred dollars. It turned out to be the best deal he ever got. She actually delivered calf number one, a red and white heifer...Pookie, at the sale~ Talk about lucky. Petinia, Purdy and Pixie, all black and white would follow. And this year she topped it off with sweet Pippa~ Pippa is having a bit of a challenge walking, her front feet seem to buckle in and she walks on her wrists. I am hoping with a little TLC I can get her tendons stretched out and she will be fine~
